About this record
This is a documentary legal-history site, not a political advocacy site. A reader who supports HB 1 and a reader who opposes HB 1 should both be able to use it to answer: what happened, when did it happen, what did the court actually say, what did each official actually do, and what remains unresolved.
This site does not infer motive. It does not claim that any official acted for partisan reasons unless documentary evidence establishes it.
How statements here are labelled
- verifiedEstablished by a primary document that is cited and linked.
- reportedA reputable source reports it; the underlying filing has not been obtained. It stays labelled this way until it is.
- unresolvedThe record does not answer it. No inference is offered in place of an answer.
What this site will not do
It will not infer why an official acted, describe a request for relief as if a court had granted it, or let a description of one court's order imply that it reviewed another court's.
If automated source checking fails, the status above holds its last verified values and says when they were last confirmed. It does not guess.
